Aerospace 2020 Release Notes
New Features
- Solid Core Geometry on Plies
- Solid geometry can now be used to define the shape of the ply. This geometry can be selected manually or come from external composite data. Upon ply realization, a drape table with thickness defined spatially is created for each ply with solid geometry.
- Stress Tool for Margin of Safety Calculations
- The following new margin of safety and failure calculations have been
added to the Stress tool (
- Composite failure calculation
- Metallic panel margin of safety calculations
).
Resolved Issues
- Orientation Review Tool material orientation updates. Numerous corrections to material orientations have been made in the OptiStruct, Radioss, Nastran, Abaqus and ANSYS profiles.
- Material orientation by curve for solid elements in OptiStruct and ANSYS profiles. A local system per element is now generated to adequately capture curved orientations.
- Detailed thickness with layers visualization in OptiStruct, Radioss, Nastran and Abaqus profiles. Previously, composite layers were shown if no ply-based template property was assigned, or an unrelated shell property was assigned.
