Beam Meshing

When geometry is exported from Marine CAD systems, you typically get additional information via .xml files on the 1D lines about how the beams were created. Beam section types, offset, material and orientations are defined on geometry lines as attributes. Meshing these beam lines, you use these attributes to create FE beams automatically with correct section types, orientation and offset. This reduces the FE model preparation time and errors.

The standard beam cross section types support the Marine/offshore industry. The section properties are calculated and assigned to the PBEAM section for any external solvers that do not understand these types. 3D visualization is also supported.
