ANALYSIS

Subcase Information Entry The ANALYSIS command can be used in the I/O Options section to request that only a finite element analysis be performed (optimization input is ignored). It may also be used in the I/O Options or Subcase Information sections to identify the solution sequence for all subcases or for individual subcases, respectively.

Format

ANALYSIS = option

Definitions

Argument Options Description
option <ONLY, OPTSKIP, STATICS, NLSTAT, MODES, MCEIG, BUCK, DCEIG, DFREQ, MFREQ, DTRAN, MTRAN, DFOUR, MFOUR, HEAT, NLHEAT, MBD, EXPDYN, FATIGUE, RANDOM> These options refer to the run control functionality of the ANALYSIS command:

Comments

  1. When ANALYSIS=ONLY or ANALYSIS=OPTSKIP are used:
    • only applicable in the I/O Options section
    • may be used in combination with one of the other ANALYSIS options.
    • all elements (including design elements) are treated as non-design elements.
    • all properties and grids referenced by size and shape variables will be set at the values on the associated property and GRID data.
  2. If an OptiStruct optimization model has DOPTPRM, DESMAX, 0, the number of license units checked out is the same as the checkout for an OptiStruct analysis job.
