FLLWER

Subcase Information Entry The FLLWER command can be used to activate updating pressure loads and concentrated forces and moments, or to activate updating the amplitude of the dynamic excitation introduced by a time-dependent dynamic load (TLOAD1/TLOAD2 or linear combination of TLOAD1/TLOAD2 only) in every nonlinear iteration for the nodes of elements for a subcase where the forces are dependent on the deformation of the elements.

It is used only for large displacement nonlinear static and large displacement nonlinear transient analysis subcases.

Supported load types are:
Pressure load
PLOAD, PLOAD2, PLOAD4, PLOADSF, and PLOADX1
Concentrated load
FORCE1, FORCE2, MOMENT, MOMENT1, and MOMENT2

Comments

  1. FLLWER Bulk Data Entries will not be used unless selected in the Subcase Information section.
  2. If a large displacement nonlinear static or large displacement nonlinear transient subcase contains a FLLWER Subcase Information Entry while PARAM, FLLWER is present in the deck, the follower force calculation parameters defined by the FLLWER Bulk Data Entry (referenced by the FLLWER command) overrides the global follower force settings of PARAM, FLLWER, <-1, 0, 1, 2, or 3> for this subcase.
  3. If FLLWER = option is present above the first subcase, it is applied to all large displacement nonlinear static or large displacement nonlinear transient subcases.
  4. Follower effect is calculated by default for pressure loading even if PARAM,FLLWER, FLLWER Subcase Information Entry, or FLLWER Bulk Data Entry are not specified for a large displacement (LGDISP) subcase.
  5. The follower effects of FORCE1, FORCE2, MOMENT1, and MOMENT2 are based on the vectors formed by the user-specified nodes, while that of FORCE/MOMENT is based on the rotation of the nodes.
  6. To activate the follower effect for FORCE/MOMENT, an additional flag, ROT is required. For more details, refer to the FORCE/MOMENT Bulk Data Entries.
  7. In case of Nonlinear Explicit Analysis (NLEXPL), follower loads are supported with DLOAD/TLOAD#, for all pressure loads, FORCE1, FORCE2, MOMENT1 and MOMENT2.
