Use the Merge tool to merge selected solids or surfaces. Solids are merged by removing shared faces while surfaces are merged by suppressing shared edges.

Access
Go to Geometry > Edit > Merge.

Options

Feature angle based
Enable surface merging based on feature angle. Rather than merging all selected surfaces, merge surfaces which have a greater angle than the user-defined angle.
Feature angle
The angle value that determines which surfaces should be merged. Any surfaces with an angle greater than this value will be merged.
Remove scratch
Remove baffle/fin surfaces after solid merge.

Merge Solids or Surfaces Using the Context Menu

Quickly merge solids or surfaces without opening the Merge tool.

  1. Navigate to the Geometry ribbon.
  2. While in idle mode, select the surfaces or solids to merge.
  3. Right-click in the modeling window and select Edit > Merge Connected or Merge Surfaces from the context menu.
Merging surfaces using this method is dependent on a defined feature angle. Surfaces which have a greater angle than the user-defined value are merged. To set the default feature angle, go to File > Preferences > Geometry and edit the Geometry feature angle option.
