Mirror Entities

Use the Mirror tool to mirror/reflect selected entities across a symmetry plane.

You may reflect input or keep input and reflect duplicate instances of the input.

  1. From the Geometry ribbon, click the arrow next to the Edit tool set, then select Mirror.

    Figure 1.
  2. Optional: On the guide bar, click to adjust the stitching tolerance.
  3. Choose an entity type using the selector on the guide bar.
  4. Select the entities to mirror.
  5. On the guide bar, click Plane.
A preview of the mirror of the selected entities will be visible in red. The displayed preview is based on what entities are selected and how you position the mirror plane.
  6. Position the plane in the following ways:
    • Drag the nodes of the Vector tool.
    • Click in the microdialog to flip the vector.
    • Click in the microdialog to reposition the plane using the Move. After moving, press Esc to return to the current context.
    • Enter vector components in the microdialog or click , , to align to a global axis.
    • Click in the microdialog and enter vector handle coordinates.
  7. On the guide bar, click Mirror.
Merge two coincident faces by selecting faces with window selection and then use the Mirror tool. This technique works well with mirrored entities.
