Creating materials with FOS properties differs slightly from creating materials with SN/EN properties.
Select the FOS fatigue module to create FOS materials.
-
Click the Material tool.
The Assign Material dialog opens.
- Click the My Material tab.
- Click to create a new material.
- Edit the name of the newly created material and any relevant properties.
-
Select an input type from the TFL Input drop-down menu.
The TFL field can be used to define either a value (constant slope) or a table (multiple slopes) to specify the failure zone.
-
Define the TFL parameters from the FOS tab.
Option Description Real - Enter a Torsion Fatigue Limit value.
- Enter a Hydrostatic Stress Sensitivity value.
- Enter Safe Zone Angle (STHETA) and Shear Threshold (SSHEAR) values to help determine safe zones for the FOS calculation.
- Click Plot and Save.
The plot is updated and the table is populated with CSV values.
Table - Click .
- Browse for an import a file containing Hydrostatic Pressure and Shear Stress values.
- Enter Safe Zone Angle (STHETA) and Shear Threshold (SSHEAR) values to help determine safe zones for the FOS calculation.
- Click Plot and Save.
