Perform automatic checks on CAD models, and identify potential issues with geometry that may slow down the meshing
process using the Verification and Comparison tools.
Many essential utility tools using HyperWorks-Tcl have been developed over the years to support Aerospace customers. A few tools have been collected and upgraded to
be compatible with this release.
Define the bar2 orientation vectors from selected lines.
When the selector type is "free lines," 3D visualization for elements is turned OFF.
The selection of lines will result in 1D elements found matching the line by
proximity. 1D elements selection is resolved only on proceed, so there is no
highlighting of elements from the selected lines.
From the Marine menu, click Stiffener Mesh > Orient.
Set the selector type to lines.
Optional: Set options as necessary by clicking
on the guide bar.
Select lines.
In the microdialog, set Orient by
metadata to extract orientation from metadata. If metadata is
not found, Orient normal to shells is used.
In the microdialog, set Orient normal to
shells to orient the stiffener Y axis along the shells
normal.
In the microdialog, select Use direction
tool to orient to invoke the vector tool and define the unique
orientation vector.
