Highlights

  • Marker tracing correction workflow
  • Self-registration of video component

New Features

Marker tracing correction
A new workflow enables you to correct the trace lines of the markers that became deviated due to flashes or any visibility interruption. This workflow is an extension to the marker tracing workflow and with one click, you can correct the trace line.
Highlights and key benefits include:
  • Only one button is needed, which becomes active after tracing a marker.
  • The corrected trace lines use linear interpolation to predict the path that was missed due to the flash or interruption.
  • The corrected path can be plotted in HyperGraph and does not show any traces of correction.
Note: Please note that a marker can be corrected only once. Multiple corrections can be implemented in future releases based on use cases.

Enhancements

Self-Registration of Altair DirectShow Video Component
Registering the DirectShow video component allows MediaView and HyperWorks to convert incoming videos into suitable viewing formats and facilitates quicker frame switching for tracing. This mandatory registration typically required you to run an installer with administrative permissions. Now, this registration is done by MediaView with a different technique that does not require any administrative permissions.

This avoids one of the common startup errors related to Altair DirectShow, which prompted the registration steps. Videos are now loaded without any issues.

Note: Please note that this self-registration applies only to HyperWorks 2020. This technique will not have any benefit on the previous versions of HyperWorks. When using previous versions, you must register the video component.

Image Capture Performance Upgrades
The technology used to capture static and moving images has been upgraded. This improves the speed of capturing videos and reduces memory consumption during this operation. The benefit is most pronounced during publishing and the report creation processes.

Resolved Issues

  • Filename with degree symbol loses special character during session file reload.
  • Measurement plots show wrong values for delta Y.
  • Trace line coordinates deviate at the start point while reloading a report template file with a few specific video files.
  • Product crash when rapidly double-clicking the Measure panel icon.
  • The last remaining marker won’t show deleted (even after deleting it from panel) until a manual screen refresh is performed.
  • Notes, Headers, and Footers are unable to change the font style to "Italic".
