Edge Blends Smoothing Flag
Edge blends smoothing flag sets additional behavior to grade heights of edge blend boundary layers.
For complex geometries, an edge-blend mesh may have invalid elements if unsmoothed. This control sets a minimum Edge blend cutoff target to adjust the edge-blend heights. The Edge blend cut off target can be set to the first layer height or the total height of the edge-blend. The Edge blend cut off value can be relative to the original height or an absolute value. If the edge-blend height is reduced below the cutoff, the process is halted.
- Edge blend constrain layer parameter restricts the smoothing to layers above the specified value only. If the first layer of the edge-blend mesh is not to be modified, set this value to one. The default value of zero smoothes all layers above the base.
- Edge blend relative height smoothing distance value is the maximum allowed distance the smoother is allowed to affect. This parameter is given relative to the total height of the edge blend boundary layer. The default value is 3.0 or three times the height of the edge blend at the model boundary. The effective range of this parameter is > 1.0, but setting the value to zero makes the smooth distance unbounded and so, the entire length of the edge-blend is used.
- Edge blend sweep angle sets the maximum radial angle for an edge-blend boundary layer sweep. This angle can be in the range of 0 to 90 degrees, and the default is set to 45 degrees.
Maximum number of vertices, edges, mesh faces and volume elements can be set to stop you from accidentally creating a huge mesh due to bad mesh attribute settings. A zero for any of these input values means unlimited. If the limits are exceeded, the mesher will exit through the error handler with an appropriate error message and the resulting mesh will be invalid.
