Define Far Field Conditions
Use the Far Field tool to define surfaces far away from the source of disturbance.
The flows at these boundaries are typically uniform. Far field is generally used for external flows, in which variables for free-stream conditions at far upstream are none.
-
Select the surfaces on which to apply the boundary
condition in the following ways:
- While in the Flow ribbon, select surfaces, then right-click and select Assign Far Field from the context menu.
- From the Flow ribbon, Boundaries tools, click the Far Field tool.
Select surfaces.
-
In the dialog, input values for each tab.
- Momentum
- Turbulence
- TemperatureNote: This tab only becomes available if the Heat Transfer option is turned on in the Flow ribbon Physics tool.
