Define Pressures

Use the Pressure tools to enforce pressure on the nodes of a surface

Define Stagnation Pressure

Use the Stagnation Pressure tool to enforce stagnation pressure on the nodes of a surface.

This type of condition is useful when velocity or flow rate is not known, such as in buoyancy-driven flows.

  1. Select the surfaces on which to apply the boundary condition in the following ways:
    • While in the Flow ribbon, select surfaces, then right-click and select Assign Pressure > Stagnation Pressure from the context menu.
    • From the Flow ribbon, Boundaries tools, click the Stagnation Pressure tool.

      Figure 1.

      Select surfaces.

  2. In the dialog, input values for each tab.
    • Momentum
    • Turbulence
    • Temperature
Note: This tab only becomes available if the Heat Transfer option is turned on in the Flow ribbon Physics tool.
    • Setting
  3. From the guide bar, execute the command in the following ways:
    • Click to confirm your selection and remain in the tool.

This allows you to continue creating instances and helps you visualize and edit instances with the legend.

    • Click to confirm your selection and exit the tool.

Define Static Pressure

Use the Static Pressure tool to enforce static pressure on the nodes of a surface.

This type of condition is useful when velocity or flow rate is not known, such as in buoyancy-driven flows.
  1. Select the surfaces on which to apply the boundary condition in the following ways:
    • While in the Flow ribbon, select surfaces, then right-click and select Assign Pressure > Static Pressure from the context menu.
    • From the Flow ribbon, Boundaries tools, click the Static Pressure tool.
