Define Guided Surfaces

Use the Guided tool to constrain/guide node along a given surface.

Nodes slip along the guide surfaces.

At present, the case where one side of an interface surface is moving and other is guiding is not supported.

  1. From the Motion ribbon, Constraints tools, click the Guided tool.

  2. Select motion surfaces.
  3. Click the Guide selector on the guide bar.
  4. Select guide surfaces.
  5. In the microdialog, enter a crease angle value.
    The crease angle is the maximum angle between face normals allowed for two element faces to be in contact. No maximum if zero.
  6. From the guide bar, execute the command in the following ways:
    • Click to confirm your selection and remain in the tool.

      This allows you to continue creating instances and helps you visualize and edit instances with the legend.

    • Click to confirm your selection and exit the tool.
