Apply Bolt and Nut Tightening Loads

  1. In the Project Tree, open the Analysis Workbench.
  2. Choose which geometry to which you will apply the preload and follow one of the following processes:
    Bolt/Nut Type Process
    Blind bolt (bolt without a nut)
    1. In the workbench toolbar, click the (Bolt tightening) icon.
    2. In the dialog, specify the Thread pitch.
    3. Activate the desired Bolt tightening method radio button and enter values in the text fields.
    4. Specify the Torque and Force units.
    5. Click OK.
    Bolt with nut/bolt on threaded rod
    1. In the workbench toolbar, click the (Bolt tightening) icon.
    2. In the dialog, specify the Thread pitch.
    3. Activate the desired Nut tightening method radio button and enter values in the text fields.
    4. Specify the Torque and Force units.
    5. Click OK.
