Apply Remote Load
Apply distributed loads (tractions) to faces and/or spots that are statistically equivalent to a load applied on a single point.
- In the Project Tree, open the Analysis Workbench.
- In the workbench toolbar, click the (Remote load) icon.
- Specify which type of entity will have constraints applied.
- Optional: If applying to Spots, you can create new spots by clicking Create new spot.
-
In the modeling window, click to select the Remote
point.
The Units and Remote point coordinates fields will become active and automatically populate.
-
Specify the coordinate system to which the force/displacement will be
applied.
The default is set to the Global coordinate system, which is automatically created upon geometry import.
- Define Force and Moment units.
- Optional: If necessary, edit the Remote point X, Y, and Z coordinates.
- Specify the Force and/or Moment directional components in the X, Y, and Z coordinate fields.
-
Specify either a follower force or a fixed direction force.
- Activate the Is follower load checkbox to specify a follower load.
- Leave the checkbox blank to specify a fixed direction force.
- Click OK.
