Check that the model is sufficiently constrained as to remove all rigid body
motion.
Before running a statistic analysis, the model must be sufficiently constrained as
to remove all rigid body motions. In general, an unconstrained body has 6 rigid motions
– 3 translational and 3 rotational. Rigid motions can come either from the overall
assembly or from movement of parts relative to one another.
-
In the Project Tree, select an Analysis branch to open
the Analysis Workbench.
-
On the workbench toolbar, select the
Check rigid motions icon.
SimSolid will check for any rigid motions
and then visualize any that are found.
