In SimSolid, seam welds are modeled as full 3D solid bodies. Welds are defined by section size and length along the edge. A minimum
weld edge length can be specified. Simple trapezoidal shapes are used to represent the welds. Weld material
properties are taken from the adjacent parts.
Spot weld connects two parts over a circular area on the contacting surfaces. Laser weld connects the contacting surfaces
over a strip created along a user-drawn line or a polyline.
