    • Regular Connections

      Regular connections can be used to define contact-based connections between parts in an assembly.

    • Welds

      Welding is a process that joins materials, usually metals by using heat or pressure.

      • Fillet and Seam Welds

        In SimSolid, seam welds are modeled as full 3D solid bodies. Welds are defined by section size and length along the edge. A minimum weld edge length can be specified. Simple trapezoidal shapes are used to represent the welds. Weld material properties are taken from the adjacent parts.

      • Spot and Laser Welds

        Spot weld connects two parts over a circular area on the contacting surfaces. Laser weld connects the contacting surfaces over a strip created along a user-drawn line or a polyline.

    • Adhesives

      Structural adhesives are simulated as thin layers of adhesive material associated with a connection.

    • Virtual Connector

      Virtual connectors are rigid imaginary parts created between selected faces/spots representing geometrical support of the connector.

    • Connection Review

      A table that shows all connections in a specified design study.

    • Review Part Connection Locations

      Diagnose connection problems.

    • Review Part Connections

      Review connections on selected parts.

Welding is a process that joins materials, usually metals by using heat or pressure.

Below are the types of welds supported in SimSolid:
  • Fillet and Seam Welds
  • Spot and Laser Welds
