Activate/Deactivate Design Variables

By default, all design variables are made active in the currently active exploration when they are created.

Reducing the number of design variables can reduce the number of runs required in an Optimization or DOE exploration.

Design variables are active or inactive relative to an exploration.

Activate or deactivate design variables in the following ways:

• In the Design Explorer Browser, Enabled column, check or uncheck the design variable's corresponding checkbox.
• Click the satellite icon on any of the Inputs tools . In the Inputs dialog, Summary tab, check or uncheck the design variable's corresponding checkbox.
• Click the satellite icon on the Exploration tool . In the Explorations dialog, Summary tab, check or uncheck the design variable's corresponding checkbox.
