Use the Settings tool to define the mesh motion equation to
be solved.
From the Motion ribbon, click the Settings tool.
The Setup dialog opens.
Select a mesh motion equation.
Option
Description
Eulerian
Make mesh fixed. All defined motion will be ignored and mesh in
domain will not deform.
Arbitrary
Add the ability to move the mesh arbitrarily based on external
influence. Can be utilized to simulate a viscoelastic material or to
simulate solid/structural direct coupling.
Specified
Enable mesh movement based on the motion or constraints defined on
surfaces and solids.
Optional: Turn on external code.
External code can be used to solve Direct Coupling Fluid Structure Interaction
(DC-FSI) problems.
Click the External code option under Settings
and activate the checkbox.
Define MotionSolve
(rigid body solver) or OptiStruct (structural solver) as the external solver.
Define a communication type.
If needed, define a multiplier function to scale fields or input/output
coefficients to filter fields.
Click to edit a selected
multiplier function.
Tip: If you click Solver controls and deactivate
Mesh deformation, the motion equation will not be solved
and all definitions will be ignored.
