Create Derived Responses

Use the Derived tool to create responses which are combination of existing responses.

1. From the Design Explorer ribbon, Responses tools, click the Derived tool.

   The Derived Responses dialog opens.
2. Enter a name for the response.
3. Build the expression in the following ways:
   • Right-click on an existing force and select Insert from the context menu.
   • Select an absolute or maximum function from the drop-down menu at the bottom of the dialog then click Insert.
   • Enter mathematical operators into the expression, such as +, -, *, /.
4. Click Create.
   The response is added to the Design Explorer Browser.
