You can clean up the geometry in your model by removing undesired parts.

The application imports triangulated geometry model in STL format, which does not contain topological information about solids or volumes. On import, the application identifies watertight volumes and construes them as parts. Sometimes, due to numerical "noise" and/or corrupted geometry, undesired volumes may appear as parts in the imported model.
